How long is a piece of string? Sifter and teapot revisited

I came up with a solution for 2 problems. One, keeping my string in a useable form and out of sight of little ones (and teenagers that find 101 uses for it). Two, justifying keeping my new blue enamel teapot.

Step 1
spend an hour looking for string.














Step 2
Spend half an hour untangling string.
Step 3
Wind string into ball (for the second time).














Step 4
Poke the end of string through the holes inside the teapot where the spout joins. Then shake and tap until the other end falls out the bottom.














Step 5
Admire, show DH how clever you are and take photos :)














I didn't think anyone would care about the sifter I bought at the Oppy last week but me so I just took a cursory shot. Here it is showing a bit more.

I even found the history of the company. It has to have been made prior to 1984 as that is when all manufacturing for the company moved off-shore. It is in pretty good nic. The painted handle has chips and scratches but it is nice and clean and in good condition generally.

I found a similar green anodised sifter on ebay if you are interested though not in as good condition.
