Pencil roll un-inspiring

I have a little list of things I wanted to make for gifts and my market stall. Pencil rolls hit the top of the list today. I don't know if it is just too hot or I have lost my Sewjo, but I did not enjoy making this and I think it shows lol. I just winged it from what I thought a pencil roll dimensions would be. I don't think I will be making more of these. But here it is:

    Well, when it is flat without pencils it is fine, but when the kpencils are in it, it is all bunchy and doesn't roll nicely, the top flap goes all skewed.
    Oh well, onto the next thing on the list..

    I have always thought that pencil rolls were a bit of a labour of love...all those little pencil columns! And my kids certainly aren't the neat and tidy type who would use these. But regardless, it is very cute. Don't think I could do them in a production line though.

    I reckon it looks cute too, and wondered about making one before, but yeah, those columns adn getting them even looks hard. I love the fabric. So what's next on the list?

    Next on the list is journal covers. I have some visual diaries here awaiting covers which everyone of my children who pass by, try to take off with. We all love to draw :)
